Macklowe Gallery built a new flagship location at 445 Park Avenue. It is a 6,250-square-foot store featuring the very best in twentieth century decorative arts and jewelry. There is a dedicated library for the gallery's collection of books and other industry resources as well as a showroom that doubles as an event and lecture space. Macklowe Gallery showcases museum-quality decorative arts alongside carefully curated Art Nouveau, Art Deco, and Mid-20th Century jewelry. SRW provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing and fire protection engineering. The architect of record was David Fratianne.

The Institute for Family Health is non-profit health care provider that provides primary care services to underserved patients in New York City and the Hudson Valley. SRW provided all MEP Engineering design required for the $10MM new construction of this LEED GOLD certified, Article 28 clinical facility located in Kingston, NY. SRW also prepared documents for submission to NYS Department of Health Certificate of Need.

SRW is providing consulting Engineering services to assist the MTA with its strategic plan to transition its 5,800 buses to a zero-emissions bus fleet by 2040 which will reduce carbon emissions (~500,000 metric tons/year), help slow down climate change and serve as a model for other diesel fleet operators.

SRW is part of a team who is evaluating, assessing, and pre-scoping 20 of 28 bus depots to ensure the facilities are prepared to support the electric buses with the required charging infrastructure and associated mechanical, fire protection and redundant services.

SRW provided construction documents to implement energy saving measures to realize a more energy efficient operation for the MTA. Funding was provided by an Energy Grant managed by New York Power Authority. Coordinated with all stakeholders to understand the operation of the bus depot and provide engineering solutions to optimize the use of energy throughout this 600,000 SF facility. Measures include demand control ventilation, variable flow pumping, VFD for the tailpipe exhaust systems, heat recovery and utility submetering for measurement and verification purposes.

SRW worked with the architect, JP Design and provided MEP assessment and design for this Urban Development Center. SRW provided MEP design services and Architectural design services to support a Chiller Plant Upgrade in Brooklyn, NY. The scope of work included chiller replacement, condensate pump replacement, BMS Controls upgrade, mechanical exhaust and a refrigerant purge system. Additionally, we provided Architectural services to support the MEP scope including but not limited to alterations required to facilitate delivery of the new mechanical equipment (door removals, new openings in walls, etc…). SRW coordinated their work with the Chiller Manufacturer and Wendel Energy who provided Energy consulting to the client.

The LIRR Expansion Project will construct a third track along a critical 9.8-mile section of LIRR’s Main Line, between Floral Park and Hicksville Stations, where five branches converge carrying 41 percent of LIRR’s daily ridership. The addition of a third track will increase track capacity through the corridor which will improve service reliability, with the further goal of getting travelers to take mass transit thus reducing traffic congestion and reducing adverse environmental impacts.

SRW is providing electrical engineering services for LIRR 3rd Track expansion Project. We are working closely with the Design Build Team and providing sealed electrical construction drawings for all temporary work that is required to implement the project. SRW’s Electrical Engineers visit the stations to survey the existing field conditions and we provide solutions that minimize outages and help facilitate the construction.

The renovation of Geary Park features a strolling garden concept with various brick walking paths, new site furnishings, a nature grove, numerous colorful flowering gardens and trees, security pole lighting and programmable color-changing LED aesthetic tree lighting.

SRW provided electrical engineering services and working closely with PHS and the lighting designer to deliver this magnificent project.

SRW worked with Aaris Architects as the lead MEP engineer to undertake a transformative interior renovation project at Columbia University’s Armstrong Building in Harlem, New York. Spanning approximately 60,000 square feet across five floors, the existing office space was revitalized to align with modern work environment standards.

The renovation focused on fostering collaboration through the integration of open floor plans and dedicated collaboration areas. A visually striking Eco Wall vertical plant system was introduced, contributing to a vibrant and sustainable atmosphere. The traditional walls were replaced with full height glazing panels, creating a sense of openness and transparency. The interior received a modern aesthetic with the installation of new fixtures and furniture throughout. The electrical service was upgraded, and meticulous attention was given to cleaning and balancing the HVAC systems. A standout feature of this renovation is the state-of-the-art “Hyper-Wall,” a 9’ x 15’ high-definition digital display wall.

SRW played a crucial role in the project by providing comprehensive services, including the preparation of construction documents. This involved the installation of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and fire alarm systems. Our scope of work encompassed field surveys, detailed plans, specifications, calculations, and active participation in client design meetings, ensuring the successful realization of Columbia University’s vision for a modern and collaborative workspace.
